Expression tool: OK doesn't appear & doesn't appear choice to assign to other staves

Since you have attached a Finale document, I suppose that the problem is document specific (= does not happen in all documents; is not program specific) - right ?

I suppose that you are talking about a button in a dialog box, with the text ‘OK’ on the button - right?

There are several dialog boxes in the Expression Tool.
Which dialog box, exactly, are you talking about ?

Where in the Expression Tool is that choice “to assign to other staves” not appearing ?

By the way:
Do your problems happen with all expressions - or only with some expressions ?

Please specify the steps you’ve already taken (to solve the problems), so that we can rule out things.

1) I happens in ALL documents

in dynamics, tempo alterations,...

For instance with "rit.": instead of "Assign" appears "Create tempo alteration" When I clic on it it appears "Assign" just for one moment and then goes back to "Create tempo alteration"
I suspect I clicked in some wrong place some days ago that changed the configuration of Expression tool

Since you did not mention any steps “you’ve already taken”, I suppose that you have not taken any steps - right?

The first things to try (one or more of these steps may be the solution):

1) Quit Finale.

2) Re-boot the computer.

3) Remove the Preferences file (Finale’s Preferences file).
When launched again, Finale will create a new, fresh Preferences file.

Maybe ASSIGN dropdown menu in the Expression Selection dialog box is not possible for Tempo alterations.
In any case it works now all right with dynamics when I did as you told me.

Then the route is:

Edit menu/Preferences/Reset all Preferences
