hello all, first time posting here
I was wondering if there's any way one could extend the range of existing instruments in finale? I am trying to write for baritone guitar (tuned P4th lower than standard guitar) and extended range bass, but I am not sure how to allow these instruments to sound in Finale. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

You are using Mac Finale v27 - right?
If I understand you correctly, the issue here is playback, not layout - right?
We need more info from you:
Open the Finale document, and take a look in the MIDI/Audio menu
Is the menu item
Play Finale Through MIDI
selected?
Or is
Play Finale Through Audio Units
selected?

MIDI playback through SoftSynth should just work. You can have a tuba play high C or a piccolo play below the bass clef staff if you want. The Garritan stuff, though, I think is sampled, so maybe not.
