Mac OS Sonoma - problems using older fonts

I'm asking this for another and don't have all the information, but maybe some of the Gurus can suggest some troubleshooting steps.

The music symbol font is very old and has worked on all OSX versions through Ventura, but Sonoma is a no-go. The usual kitchen utensil symbols in place of noteheads, rests, etc. As far as I know, the Finale version in use is 27.4.

What is the name of the font? What format is it?

Apple now describes Type 1 PostScript fonts as "legacy", which is alarming. If you're using any T1 fonts, you should find TrueType or OpenType equivalents.

Is this an 'old' music font in a SMuFL document?

If it is just displaying the wrong glyphs, that could just be a font cache issue. Clear the cache with the following Terminal command:

sudo atsutil databases -remove

You'll need to supply an admin password, and then restart.
