How to create part names when printing from score
Moderators: Peter Thomsen, miker
How is it possible to generate staff names (in upper right corner) on parts when printing the parts from score (without extracting parts).
I find it already inserted and working in templates, but find no way to make it in an old score document.
Any clue out there?

Can't you use a text style->hidden for texts which you don't want to see (and print) ?indris wrote: But now.... how to hide the annoying "score" on all score pages?

Not sure we are talking about the same thing.indris wrote: Then I seem to hide the staff names in all the parts as well....(the "Show" gets unchecked in parts/score simultaneously.)
I ment to select the text, then in the text menu, select hidden. (I have not installed 2007 yet, so I might be completely off topic).

Not really off topic; it worked with a 2007 modification! Thanks.michelp wrote: Not sure we are talking about the same thing.

2007: First one must break the link between score and parts. THEN the hide text on score comes useful...

Another solution is to drag the text block off the page.
In that way the text block won't print - and there is no need to hide the text.
You can break the link between score and parts while dragging.
It's a matter of using the "override" key that overrides the Default Behaviour.
The Default Behaviour is that:
Dragging a text block in the score links to the parts.
Dragging a text block in a part breaks the link to the score.
The "override" key is Ctrl in WinFin (I think), and Command in MacFin.
Therefore:
To break the link while dragging a text block in the score, hold down the override key.
To break the link while dragging a text block in a part, just drag the text block, without holding down any modifier keys.
