Hi, whenever I tie a note, it gets all graphically funky on me. Like... the tie line goes aaaaaaaaaaaall the way in one direction or the other, not just in between notes. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't; also sometimes its only in a certain view mode like page or scroll or studio. It's veeeeeeeeery inconsistent.

Any ideas how to fix this? I gotta make a piano arrangement by Monday and I'm THIS close to switching to Sibelius or something.

Just a shot in the dark : are you sure you are not using slurs instead of ties ?
To create a tie in speedy entry, for instance, type = after entering the note.

Haven't tried Speedy Entry... speaking of which, where can I find a list of hotkeys? I'd really like to be able to switch between note weights via comp keyboard...

but yeah, I am using ties... its last button on that toolbar, isn't it? Cursor floating over says tied notes anyway.

If you have a numeric keypad, you can enter the durations from there : ex. ; 7 is the whole note, 6 the half note, etc...In Simple and in Speedy entry (with midi keyboard).
If you don't, it is possible too, I think, but I don't know how.
Keyboard shortcuts are available under the Help menu.
