Are there any glissandos in the file?

Try deleting all glissandos, and check, whether that fixes the problem.

no glissandos. but it sounds like there is a shake or something on some notes. but this has to be midi-messages and not written in finale.
can i turn off that finale reads midimessages that are not notes/durations/pitch?
maybe that could solve the problem or what do you think?

i had the glissando issue a lot of times in the past. do you know a workaround cause this is really annoying. i have to use them a lot but everytime when i use them i get the mentioned problem....
thanks for your help

I don't know, whether it could solve the problem, but it couldn't hurt to try it.

I'm not at Finale right now, so this is from my memory:
Edit menu > Clear Selected Items...
Select something like "Performance Data".

Another idea:
Perhaps the culprit is an expression with playback effect "Pitchwheel".
Clear expressions from the problem region, and check, whether that solves the problem.

I don't know a workaround, sorry.
But the issue has been fixed in a later version - 2009, If I Recall Correctly.

Peter Thomsen: THANK YOU!!! I have been writing a piece with piano, voice and trumpet. The piano was, by itself, out of tune and the trumpet was a good 1/4 tone off of that. I called Finale support and they had no idea what to do. "Quit Finale and reopen the file" is the answer I got.

I tried the 'clear performance data' suggestion and it all sounds perfectly clear and in tune.

Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Using Garritan Sounds and it seems like everytime I use a glissando in a part, that part has evil problems for the duration of my work. Something cause the instrument to play out of tune.

Clearing Performance Data does not solve my problem.

I created two work arounds that are TIME CONSUMING AND FRUSTRATING.

1) Prior to playback, click hyperscribe tool, select track in question - and as soon as playback starts, I rock the pitch bend wheel on my midikeyboard and then the track is back in tune.

2) While playing, I remove the instrument from the Aria Player (Audio Unit Viewer) and then add it back in. This also seems to reset the pitch.

Both of these solutions are a pain.

Finale told me to trash my preference file - This also did not work.

Any Suggestions?

I had a problem - after adding a trill in the piano part of an orchestral piece using Aria/Garritan (default), the brass sounded like a Salvation Army band.
(It could be I made the trill longer than it needed - it's a strange tool.. to trill a quarter note, you have to double-click and drag straight down. If the duration hangs over, the trill goes nuts)

I found a fix for the intonation problems - which spread everywhere...

First, get rid of the offending trill (or gliss or whatever the problem is)

Then, go to Midi/Audio:Reassign Playback Sounds.

That did it.
I could get the trills in then too without breaking anything.
