Finale 2011 GPO setting problem

I am doing an arrangement using Garritan Personal Orchestra 4.02 and Finale 2011 (yes, I just did a post about Finale 2014. I still have a few snafus with it, and am using 2011 to be safe)
I have set the stgs to Violins KS short bows, which is appropriate for the whole beginning, but when the is a longer held note, it doesn't do it, stays with short bows.
I thought KS was meant to solve something like this. Any helpful tips welcome. Thx.
