Importing articulation from Midi

Hello,

when i imported a midi-file into finale i can add the dynamics from within the midi file by using the plugin "Auto-Dynamic Placement".

But when hearing the playback i can still hear staccato and accents. Is there a way to transport them into notation directly without placing every staccato by hand. So the same as the "Auto-Dynamic Placement" but for articulation ? Since Finale is playing those arcticulation maybe there is a way to place them automatically.

Thank you very much

I suggest that you also ask in the forum on MakeMusic’s web site.

Some of the users there know a lot about Finale utilities, and about the development of Finale plug-ins, like e. g. FinaleScript and Jari Williamson’s scripting plug-in JW Lua.

Thank you.

Im not quite sure why finale shows them as eight notes but plays them as eight notes/staccato or sixteen notes.

It is called Quantization.
When transcribing a performance into music notation it is standard practice to simplify the notation by changing {shorter note + rest} into {longer note without rest}.

Finale has Quantization Settings that you can edit:
MIDI/Audio menu > Quantization Settings…
