My Finale 2009c works only unworkably erratically with Windows 7 64 bit; some things work but other crucial things don't (with Simple Entry I can use the menu but not keyboard shortcuts) and Speedy Entry (no note input at all but I can move the editing frame).

From a web search I see that many users claim 2009 works perfectly with Windows 7, but none of those posters indicate they have 64 bit (most of them have 32 bit).

Is 2009 hopelessly incompatible with 64 bit Windows 7?

Finale 2009 itself is 32 bit - but you probably already knew that.

You might get more help if you also ask your question in the Windows sub-forum on MakeMusic’s web site.
Some of the users there know a lot about compatibility issues in Windows.

Thanks Peter, I will do that. Probably in the end I will have to get the new Finale.
