I have been analyzing some CDs and some MP3s with Audacity. I also applied Audacity to WAV files produced by Finale. I was surprised that there seems to be a 15,000Hz cutoff. This is equivalent to about 128bps MP3, rather low quality. I do not know whether this a property of the Garritan Libraries or of Finale's processing thereof or my settings.

This isn't a complaint, merely an observation. I'm guessing that aa 30,000Hz library would be double the size (at least in uncompressed form) without much increase in fidelity.

I was wondering if other users had similar observations.

I get 24/96 Playback w/Garritan and either my Mytek, Korg or Dragonfly Dacs, excellent, better than earlier versions ( Have F25 ).

Thanks. I created a Finale25 file from scratch (even regenerating the Latin Percussion library). This one shows over 28,000Hz with Audacity and FooBar gives about 1536bps at 48000Hz. Seems like my earlier setup was a problem. I'll see if Human Playback can cause trouble.

I did redirect my save and backup and temp files (as I have been doing for other versions of Finale). Now I'm getting good frequency response with Garritan GPO5 and JABB3 and GWI, both with and without Human Playback. This works fine on two different computers. I'm not going to chase it further (I'll stop chasing a the first measure) unless more problems show up.

I appreciate the comments. Knowing that something works is helpful in trying to find out why it's not working.
