I am not very happy how sf & fz sound.

1) Is there a way to reduce to half their power?, and

2) to stop listening at all them when playback on the score?

I appreciate your valuable help

Have you tried changing their Note Velocity level in the expression definition?

Are you sure you're not thinking of articulations, Zuill? I opened a default document and there is no playback effect for sf or fz. Probably HP is interpreting them. But this is definitely outside my area of expertise.

I guess those 2 don't have Velocity levels set. But HP sure interprets them. And it may not be the desired one. One way to trick HP is to create an expression as a shape expression, instead of a text expression. HP usually doesn't respond to Shapes.

Motet,

Not all instruments respond to such expressions. What instrument did you try? I tried a KS instrument, as some HP programming is targeted for those. I wish there was a master document of all the programming assignments for HP. Never going to happen!

I didn't try any. I just looked at the Playback tab for sf, found nothing, so guessed that HP was doing it.

I don't use HP and want none of these effects for my playback purpose of checking notes. I think at some point I edited the articulations to get rid of (non-HP) playback effects as well.

I think you'd need a sample library that has these dynamics actually recorded that way; hard to fake them with velocity/CCs.
