In finale 2014 with human playback on standard, the notation is quarter quarter half, quarter quarter. There is a pause (silence) after the half note before playing the next quarter. With human playback off there is no pause.

Where is the setting to eliminate this pausing?

As I consider it, the issue seems to be a pause that is added at the end of a phrase. However it is misinterpretting where the end of the phrase ought to be

Thanks for the quick reply. I attached it. I've since found that it is an issue with the interpreting of phrases, if I add a slur to the entire phrase there is no pause. But in the file, it is bar 3 after the word "cry" bar 6 after the word "cry" etc

I'm making a practice video, so adding slurs to define every phrase is out, I need correct look and correct playback.

Finally, if I set hp to custom and then uncheck "auto expression" then it stops trying to interpret the end of the phrase... what a huge digging for such a small thing! Thank you
