I use Finale 2014.5 on a Windows computer. I write harp music. I like the harp sound through VTS. But I think I have to change to MIDI in order to export and save the audio file as an mp3. And I don't like the MIDI sound of the mp3. Am I doing something wrong? Is there a way to get the VTS sound exported as an mp3? Thank you for your help.

yes you are doing something wrong.
export to audio.
this will output a .WAV file.
then convert this to an .MP3
User of Finale since version 3.0 on Windows.
Now using a mix of Finale 2012, Finale 25, and 26.1
GPO, Garritan Solo Stradivari violin, Gofriller Solo Cello.
XSamples Chamber Ensemble.
Absolute convert to NotePerformer3.

Thank you so much for your quick reply, Michel.

Can you tell me what I need to do to convert a wav file into a mp3? Do I need a special program to do this?

Thank you!

On the web you can find several programs that can convert between different audio file formats (e. g. from .VAW to .MP3).

Two examples:
iTunes
Audacity
Mac OS X 12.6.9 (Monterey), Finale user since 1996

Simply converting is often not enough. That's why I use Audacity. After opening a wav file in Audacity, I then normalize the audio. Also, sometimes I want to trim either the beginning or the end, if needed. I then have several options for mp3, depending on the quality and type needed.
