I'm running Finale 25 on macOS Sierra.
For some reason I can't get any sound to come out of Finale when playing back.
I've tried switching between playing through Audio Units and playing through Midid,
I've tried switching Garritan instruments vs. smart music instruments.
Nothing seems to work. please help!
Playback Not Working Finale 25 macOS Sierra

Thanks, Mike!
Well restarting the computer worked great. haha. Thanks for that.
However, I'm confused why it will only play through Midi and not through Audio Units. Is there a reason for that? It seems the garritan instruments don't want to make sound...

Make sure that the Garritan samples are actually installed.
Confusingly, when you install Finale, you are asked to specify a location for the Garritan samples. (Well, a file selection dialog comes up, but its purposes is not made clear.) Finale 25 changed the default location from /Applications to /Users/Shared.
Finale (or Finales) can get confused about where the samples are.
1. Open the file /Library/Preferences/com.Garritan.Instruments for Finale.plist
2. Look for the "base_dir" key, and the filepath location that follows it.
3. Check that your samples are at that location.
