I am using Finale 25 on Windows 8, and I have recently started using Kontakt 5 and it's wonderful sound library. However, I find it disturbing that the Human Playback keyswitches do not trigger the sampled techniques like pizzicato, tremolo and such, but instead uses the standard HP tremolos and such. It feels like a shame not being able to utilize the full extent of the Kontakt library, as the sound is far superior to the HP rendering.
I have understood that there should be a way of linking the articulations with the corresponding samples, but as far as tutorials and Finale's User Manual get's me, I still end up with no effect. I have tried to understand the usage of the Human Playback Preferences, but it's so complicated when one has so little experience and knowledge.
Please help me!
How to use Kontakt 5 samples in Finale 25??

You have to create your own HP Preferences to setup the keyswitches, otherwise Finale has no idea.

Yes, that far I have understood things. But it's in the process of setting those preferences that I get lost - there are so many parameters, and I can't seem to get it right when I try...

Have you read that section of the manual?
https://usermanuals.finalemusic.com/Fin ... 20playback
Each playing technique will look something like the attached photo. Because different music apps use different standards for middle C, you have to first find the righ octave for the keyswitches. In this case you need to enter things in Finale an octave higher. So the sustain articulation in the Kontakt library (C0) is selected with C1 in Finale HP settings.

So the keyswitches are written an octave higher?! That explains why I couldn't get it right! And thanks for posting the informative picture, it made it a whole lot clearer.
Thank you VERY much!
