It used to be that if I put a "rit." or "accel." in, and placed a new tempo several bars later, it would gradually change tempo until it got to the new tempo. I've used this zillions of times. However, all of a sudden, it's not working anymore. The ritardando and accel. "overshoot the mark" and go way beyond the tempo I'm trying to go to. So I have to use the Midi tool to craft the tempo change, which is much more time-consuming.
I've looked at all the HP settings, and I don't see how anything could have changed. It's mystifying to me that even though I haven't upgraded or changed Finale in any way, suddenly this feature that I found so convenient isn't working anymore.
Any ideas?
I have Finale 2010b.r1 on Windows 7.

Do ritard. an accel. work in other files? Check your playback settings. Is the tempo set to incorporate HP data?
