I am using Finale 2012 on Windows 10. I am getting no playback, even on music that would playback before, or new music. Nothing is playing back.

Have you recently installed an OS update?

Have you restarted the computer?

Have you trashed the preferences?

On a Mac, there's MIdiAudio/Device Setup/ Audio Device.
Make sure the right thing is selected,
sometimes they revert, I 've had to change it back from time to time.

My Win 10 laptop has also just stopped playing back files (Finale 2011) which are/were previously known to work. In fact I get no sound from new files either. I only use playback via MIDI not VST which is not installed.

Having looked this thread I can say:

Have you trashed the preferences? Do you mean accidentally, or deliberately. I am not sure what this means.

What I HAVE done recently is to update Noteworthy Composer from 2.75 to 2.75a and I'm wondering if there is a conflict. I will have a look on my Win 7 desktop later but have to go out. More later.

My Windows 7 machine plays Finale files OK so it must be a Win 10 thing.

Any ideas? Will screen shots help or a list of that I've tried?

As of 11th Sep 2017 it is all working again after a Windows 10 update. I blame M$! I had also noticed that when I load Finale for the first time the Hyperscribe tool is strangely selected which I never use. Must have hit it in error.
