Finale 25 and TG Tools LE Smart Playback
Moderators: Peter Thomsen, miker
Anyone else having issues with Finale 25 and TG Tools Smart Playback Plug-in (Plug-ins>TG Tools>Smart Playback) no longer recognizing tremolos/diddles as an articulation to process (see attachment of error message)? Layer 4 is open so it's not an occupied layer issue. Also, Finale consistently crashes when selecting "Remove these effects from selection". This plug has always been a solid alternative to HP.

Copy a sample to clipboard and open it in your favorite graphics viewer (Edit -> Paste). Then use the image as reference to write a measure or two into a fresh document, such as the Finale default. Assign the playback. If everything works then you will know that the original document is corrupted, which is common in Finale if you write anything but elementary music.
Something else you can try is to clear all MIDI data, even if not using MIDI to enter the notes (backup your file -> Selection Tool -> highlight all the measures -> right-click in any part of the highlighted area -> Clear Selected Items -> None -> check MIDI Data). You may also check Smart Shapes before re-assigning the plugin. You can always undo these steps in the event the problem is not solved.
Good luck!

Thank you Djard. Official word from the Finale folks is this is a "known issue" for Finale 25. My workaround has been to install the TG Tools Pro V3 Plugs and use Modify > Playback. To my ears, the result sounds slightly different but close enough.
