Finale 2014.5 Windows 7
Violin section divided in 3 (full violins for all 3 sections). They have a pizz, then they're supposed to go back to arco, which I indicate all over the place and multiple times. A little while later I change them for two bars to solo violins (arco). After that last bar of solo violins, they're back to full sections, but from there on, no matter what I do, they're playing back pizz.
I've tried:
- Clearing the MIDI data
- Indicating "arco" multiple times at each entry
- Double checking that the Change Instrument window after the solos reads full section violins
- Double checking that the Score Manager is in order
Even an abridged version of the file is too big too load, so I can't attach it. I'm stumped.
Strings won't play back arco after an instrument change

Since we can't see the file, we probably won't be able to help solve the specific issue. However, you can always force a keyswitch with a data dump expression.

P.S.: I just created a simple test file, and both arco and pizz played as expected. So, something is going on your file which is preventing proper playback. If all else fails, the data dump is still a useful fallback method.
