Finale 26 Blocks access to Kontakt 5 files

I use an 8dio VST in Digital Performer 10 with no problem. Finale can load Kontakt 5 and the installed libraries. The 8dio files are on an external drive. When I open Kontakt within Finale, it shows the drive without the "+" sign that indicates accessible files within. This doesn't happen with other VSTs, also loaded onto that drive. Looks like a permission issue.
