I have a full version of Finale 2004 and a demo of Finale 2005. In both programs, when I open a file, here's a screenshot of what i see:

The stems are there, but the notes are missing... they are inivisble... and there are weird lines going off the saves. It plays perfectly fine, and when I create a new file it looks alright, it's only when I open a file.
Any idea what's wrong?

It looks like the music fonts (or at least some of the fonts) aren't installed properly.
Two ideas:
1. Grab your Finale cd, and do a custom install of the fonts only.
Reboot the computer.
2. Open one of the problem documents, and go to
Options menu > Set Default Music Font...
Perhaps the document is set to a default music font that isn't installed.
Changing the default music font to something else, e. g. to Maestro, might solve the problem.
