Hi.

Anyone here having the same problem?

I tried to make finale open my "template" / my own created document as a default action (command + n). I do so by copying the file into the default file folder and dragging it from there into the menu where you tell finale where to find the file. I find it quite wierd the finale for MAC does not have a "select file" button of some sort. When i press com+n I get the "finale cannot locate the file blablabla etc." errormessage and then creates a document with one bar or something. Quite annoying considering that the file IS in the folder.

When I delete what file I want finale to open Finale open the default maestro file with no problems.

Any clues, tips or help?

I have Macbook Pro OS X 10.9.2 and Finale 2014

Kind Regards.
Bassmann.

My first guess would be that you have put your custom template in the wrong folder.

There are two identical folder sets with Finale files.

One folder set resides in the Library folder in your user account.
This is the folder set that Finale uses, and this is where you should put your template.
If you can’t find the Library folder in your user account, try this:
Hold down the Option key, and use Finder’s Go menu.

Another folder set resides in the Library folder at the root level.
This folder set serves as a “backup” for Finale.
I could be wrong here, but I think that Finale in case of a missing folder in your user account will go to the corresponding folder in the root level Library, and copy the folder to your user account’s Library.
