i hope someone can help me out here.

i am using finale 2003 and here is my dilema...

i want to make an eighth not triplet. for the first two eighth notes of the triplet i want to put a quarter note, and then put an eighth note in for the last eighth beat. i can't get the program to let me put the quarter note in. it just beeps as though i am putting in too many beats.

thanks for any help.

In the Speedy Entry Tool:

- Define the tuplet: Windows: Ctrl-1 ; Mac: Option-1
- Speedy Entry defaults to the tuplet you want (a 3:2 eighth triplet), so you can just OK right out of the dialog box, without changing anything:
Return (or Enter)
- enter the scale step for the quarter note
- NumPad 5 (the quarter note is entered)
- enter the scale step for the eighth note
- NumPad 4 (the eighth note is entered)

tainter,

What is your Speedy Entry input method?
Are you using a MIDI device for input, or are you using the computer keyboard for input?

then uncheck the line "use MIDI-keyboard for input" (or so, I have a German version), second line in the speedy entry menu.
