Is creating a large time signature for a conductors score still a multi-process operation in Finale 25?

Never mind. I see that it is. I thought Finale 25 would simply the process but I guess not.

It did simplify the process in 25.2 by giving the new feature of not showing a TS in a staff in the Score instead of having to use a Staff Style.

I guess I should be grateful for the little things.

Um, I find a relatively simple process to remove time signatures in a score -- via the menu for plug-ins/scoring & arranging/global staff attributes, then selecting all staves and then unchecking the box for "Time Signatures in Scores." It's not exactly one-click, but neither is it onerous. But I don't find an option to display large time signatures, so the result is a score without time signatures. I'm aware that there's a cumbersome way to create large time signatures and display them via staff styles; but I already use a lot of staff styles to get my scores to print out correctly with instrument numbers and names. As I understand it, a new time signature staff style throughout the score would cause conflicts and/or replace the existing staff naming so meticulously entered?

So two questions. (1) Is there a large time signatures approach that does not conflict with existing staff styles that have nothing to do with time signatures? (2) Is there a simple way to turn on the large display of time signatures or must they be manually created? Seems to me the intuitive place would be under Document / Options, with a checkbox, similar to abbreviating cut time and common time. But wherever I look in Finale 25, I don't find such an option.

thanks, chris hoh

Here are some ideas:

1) Another way to get the tall time signatures above the score is an extra staff above the score.
To avoid the Left Barlines, move the extra staff’s barlines vertically down into the staff below.
In the extra staff, de-select the display of everything except time signatures.
You can resize this extra staff as you like - the time signatures will be resized with the staff.

2) Finale comes with the font Engraver Time which was designed specifically for tall time signatures.
Try it!
You can use a specific font for time signatures in the score, and another font for time signatures in the linked parts.

I've tried the method MM suggests in the manual, but when I turn on show Time Signatures in Score on a single staff, it creates space for the time signature, but there's no time signature.

When I set the font in Document Options it only shows characters that look like rehearsal letter A with the annotation "basic Latin." I checked it in my Library and it seems to be fine there.

Thanks for any suggestions what I'm missing.
