Can anyone tell me exactly what I need to do to control the transport (e.g. punch in, punch out or record/play) functions in Finale ?

I want to be able (in Hyerscribe I presume) to hit a pedal to cause Finale to start recording my two handed playing and to stop recording with the pedal(s?)

Can Finale do this ? If so, what pedal would work and how do I do it ?

Bob

Welcome to the forum.

Before you make yourself crazy with a foot pedal, have you used Hyperscribe, before? Many people find it more trouble than it's worth.

Forget about punching in/out the way it is done in a recording environment.
In Hyperscribe, one uses a mouse click on the start measure and on the appropriate staff. What do you do with a pedal if you have 4 staves ?
Things you can use are the countoff measures, the tempo adjustment (for recording), the quantization.
As miker said, unless you play very basic music with high rhythmic precision, Hyperscribe will be very of limited use.
