Finale 2002 not playing back on new computer

I have just bought a new Dell PC. My Finale 2002 works satisfactorily on this until I come to play the music. It might start but within a few measures will stop - and then won't play any more. I'vge tried it on a new laptop and it works fine on that. It has worked for a couple of years on my old PC.
Could this be a sound card problem? The old machine had a AWE64 soundcard - the new one has a soundcard integrated into the motherboard.
I have, of course, tried Dell but they can't help at all.
If anyone can help me to make this new machine into a good buy I shall be very grateful.

What Windows version does your new Dell PC run?

If it's Windows XP, try running Finale 2002 in compatibility mode.
