Hello,
I am a teacher who has always used Finale for music notation. I had a version from my board, but it was 2008 and does not run on my computers anymore. I was able to purchase an newer (but still old!) version...2012. Everything installed just fine, except when I went to register the software on Make Music, it is telling me that "the serial number is not valid for this customer".
I am beyond frustrated, as I do not have the finances/budget to purchase the latest version, and this version is Mac/PC, as I need both.
Is there anyone who can help me to figure this out? I have the serial number, the USER ID and Authentication information.
Respectfully,
Lydia

For me, version 2012 was soooo unstable. I would recommend saving up and getting the latest version. As a teacher, you would qualify for a sizable discount. Sweetwater's prices are the lowest that I could find when I upgraded. You will love the newer features in Finale but mostly the stability. The only headache with upgrading is the need to convert all your old *.mux files to *.musx that usually requires firstly saving the files as MusicXML to get rid of the bug-ridden format of v2012, which process tends to scatter a lot of the items in a document. That has been my experience; others may have been more fortunate.
