Importing Encore 4.5 files

Greetings
Encore 4.21 is long gone and useless in face of its utter incompatibility with the win2k/me/xp operating systems... so what good is finale's enc to mus converter if 4.5 files aren't supported?! Heck some 60% of all my encore files (and there are litterally hundreds of them) are in 4.5 format so how on earth am I going to work on my previous compositions like this? Importing midi files and going old reediting the scores from head to toe?! One of coda's main marketing strategies is it's software's ability to seamlessly upgrade encore... how's that for misleading publicity?
Has anyone out here found a workaround for this situation? I wouldn't mind installing win98 and get back to encore 4.21 but it'd be just as bad as encore 4.5's files aren't retrocompatible...
Any help is welcome.
Cheers
