I'm running 2014 on an iMac 10.5....
I have a piece with initial tempo marking of 80...
if I save it as a midi is plays at 80...
if I export it as an audio file and save it as a mp3, it slows down...so the only fix I've found so far is to go back into the score, change the 80 to 105 and then the mp3 version sounds about right on tempo...of course if I play it thru the midi controller on the iMac, then it's too fast...
any help?
thanks,
rb

1) Please specify the steps you've already taken, so that we can rule out things.
Have you e. g. tried trashing Finale’s Preferences?
2) If I understand you correctly, you get the correct playback tempo of 80 from a saved MIDI file, right?
But you get a too slow playback tempo from a saved audio file, right?
3) What happens if you - instead of the MIDI file and the audio file - play back the original Finale document itself (by clicking the Playback button in the Finale window Playback Controls)?
Do you get the correct playback tempo of 80 from the Finale document?
4) Does the problem happen in all documents - or only in one specific document?
If the problem is document specific, then it might be a good idea that you attach a (small) Finale 2014 .musx sample document here, for the gurus to examine.
Before a Finale document can be attached here, it must be compressed, e. g. as a .zip file.
And the file size must not be more than max. 100 KB.

What file are you playing through the MIDI controller on the iMac? - the MIDI file? - or the audio file?rbsalyer wrote:…if I play it thru the midi controller on the iMac, then it's too fast…

my apologies for taking so long to reply…had to get away from computers for awhile…
back to the problem…
I have a finale piece tempo is 80…and plays at 80 when I play it back in finale.
I want to save it as a mp3 file
when I do so, it changes the tempo dramatically, really slows it down…
thanks for any help…
