I have apparently been banned from the (old) MakeMusic forum. It happened once and I reset my IP address. I was able to get in, but now I've been banned again. Anyone else?

If there is any news there, I'd appreciate it of someone could report here. Otherwise I'll try later, I guess.

It just happened to me after they said it was fixed. i was able to get in again, but got the banned message again when I tried to post a report.

Maybe it is beginning of the death throes of MakeMusic forum. :?

Seriously, I am liking it more and more over here. I hope more MM forum members join in.

Thanks, John. I'm glad it was a glitch rather than me being singled out. It certainly seems like they have their problems technically.

It's happened before, and it affects everyone.

I was just told "it's fixed, clear your cache," but no cigar.

Just how hard can it be?

I got the message as well, but after reloading the page a couple of times, I got through, both on the desktop and the iPad.

It did that for a couple of days.

It's now locked and no one can post so it's not an issue anymore.

I tried to post a comment about my experience trying to access the other forum but was blocked as my message was interpreted as SPAM. Maybe it's because I mentioned the other forum by name.

I stopped using this otherwise excellent forum because uploading even two measures of music can exceed the file size limitation. If anybody is able to upload a file here for analysis, I'd be grateful to learn what compression tool you use to manage the task.

Djard,
The file size limit has been raised to 250 MB, and the forum now accepts .mus and .musx files.

Mike,
But not PDF, TXT, and probably other file types. The workaround I've used is to tack a .ZIP to the end of the file name. ZIPs upload OK provided the 250MB limit isn't exceeded.

Anyway to know what file types are allowed? Can the administrator at least add PDF to the list?

I am still seeing the new limit referred to as 250MB. That is huge. Isn't the new limit 250KB?

Yes, the limit is 250 KB, not 250 MB.

+1 for .pdf files and .txt (crash reports etc...). And .lua some day.

I'm thrilled to learn that 250 KB is now the limit, which is more than enough if restricting the post to just a problematic section.
