Hello to all people on the Finale Forum,
I'm new to Finale, I'm using Finale 2007 on a Mac Osx 10.3.9, and I have a question about importing MIDI files.
I create a New document using Setup Wizard, select the number of instruments for the score, starting from the Orchestral string ensemble and adding the other instruments, the Tempo, Jazz font and so on.
Instrument list:
- Flute
- Oboe
- Clarinet
- Violin I
- Violin II
- Viola
- Cello
- Contrabass
Is there a way to import a Midi file, with the same instruments in it, and put it on the new empty file created with the setup wizard?
Or, maybe it's simple, is there a way to put the same settings that i have done with the setup wizard, such as font, spacing, bracket ecc. into the MIDI file that I have to import??
I hope someone can help me, 'couse I'm going crazy.
Have a nice day
Mike
MIDI File into existing Score

Hi,
What you want to do is treat your new file like a "template". Open your midi file in Finale, finale will work and create a new score from your midi file with all the notes in it. What you are going to do is copy from the midi score into your score with your formatting and fonts and everything.
Let me know if that works.
