Playback not working - Help!

I'm using Finale Notepad 2011 and the playback functions are displaying but no sound is coming out. I've checked all of my system sound settings and everything seems right, but when it plays through the measures there is no sound. I've read through the manual online but can't seem to troubleshoot this issue. Can anyone help?

If you are using Windows, make sure that the SWSynth volume is up, in the Sounds control panel.

I confirmed SW Synth is on and volume is at max. Still nothing! I've been composing a song but cannot hear anything still. Is there any kind of setting in Finale I need to adjust?

In the MIDI menu, do you have MIDI Thru checked? In the MIDI Setup... window, for MIDI OUT, there are a number choices. Try other ones!
