Message:
I am sorry, but I don't understand.

"Actually, i will have a seperate snare drum, quint tenor drums, and marching bass drums on seperate staves."

Does that mean 3 separate staves? What is the problem?

"I need to know how to get all stems up on a single stave, not layered."

If the staff is not layered, just use Layer 1 only, and follow the instructions in my first answer.

"also. How do i set a line for bass drums where i am not just given the standard concert bass drum single line"

If you don't want a single line staff, set it up with the number of lines that you want. You are not limited to having 5 lines, as in a standard staff. You can have 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, any number of lines. It is set up with the Staff Tool. Double-click the staff to bring up the Staff Attributes dialog box.

"and a full 5 line stave for snare drum also."

A 5 line staff is a standard staff. Usually you will automatically get a 5 line staff, if you double-click in Scroll View.
