This happens when Windows doesn't let Finale write everything into the registry when installing the program. This is usually caused by another program running in the background when you are installing Finale. Try uninstalling Finale. Then press ctrl+alt+delete and close everything except Explorer and Systray. Put your Finale CD in the drive. If the auto start doesn't take place, go to My Computer and RIGHT click on the Finale CD icon. Choose Open. Double click the setup icon to start the installation. There are more thorough steps that can be taken if this doesn't force Windows to let Finale install. If you are still having problems, e-mail me and I'll send you the instructions.
