The other solution is this. If you want them to be pizz. for the entire piece, go to Window >> Instrument List. Change the Prog. to the pizz sound (I think 46). If you only want a section played pizzicato, select the Expression Tool. Double click the measure where the pizz starts. Click Create. You can type in pizz if you want, and change the font to italics if you like. Then click Playback Options. For the type choose Patch and choose the pizz. patch again. Click OK, Select, This Staff Only, and OK. Then go to where you want the sound to go arco again. Repeat the same procedure, but choose the normal string sound again.
