Yes, I created the split point exactly where i want it to be with the technique you just mentionned - and the measure actually splits - but instead of pushing the second half of the measure to the next system where i would need it to go, it just keeps pushing the first half of that same measure to the previous system, making that system too crowded.

I think something's wrong with the 2002a version...Have you heard of anyone experiencing the same problem ?
