If you qualify for the educational discount, I would encourage you to get and learn to use Finale. The last time I checked, the educational discount for Finale was about the same as the cost of Allegro which did not have an educational discount available. Although PrintMusic can handle the example you gave, it cannot handle some the more complicated tasks usually used when trying to set up the examples that I use regulary for my theory students.
