Re: Automatic Tablature Octave to low
Message:Pat,To make the music look and playback correctly and have the auto tab place the tab correctly, do the following (Finale 2002): 1. Make sure that "Display in concert pitch" is checked in the Options Menu 2. Use the Mass Mover Tool to get your notes back to where you want them to sound (concert pitch 8va lower than written) 3. Click on the Staff Tool and set the guitar staff to tranpose up an octave 4. Uncheck "Display in concert pitch" in the Options menu (notes should now appear an octave higher - written pitch) 5. Select the Mass Mover Tool, select all of your music and select "Automatic Tablature" from the plug-in menu 6. Click on "Show Details" in the auto tab dialog box 7. Click the "Listen" button next to string 1 and play the E above middle C (E4) on your MIDI keyboard (or type 64 into the box) 8. Repeat #7 for each string (if you don't have a MIDI keyboard, type in the MIDI numbers for each string) 9. Click OK and it should look, playback and be tabbed correctly. Good luck. Jim Coull
