I don't have a template called "jazzband leadsheet". I suppose that you mean the "Lead Sheet (Jazz Font)" template in the folder named "General Templates".

Your question is a little unclear to me. Rhythmic Notation is a Staff Tool setting that places all "noteheads" on the middle line inside the staff, regardless of the pitch entered. But you want the kicks notated "above chords". Does that mean "outside the staff", "above the staff"?

Or do you mean that you have the chord symbols written below the staff, outside the staff, and that you want the rhythmic notation with the kicks on the middle line inside the staff?

Pardon me if my question sounds silly. I have never used the "Lead Sheet" template myself. And I don't know how lead sheet notation usually looks.
