Re: finale, midi, and seperate channels
Message:Juice,You write that you tried to assign different staves "to different channels". In the Instrument List window you will have to assign the different staves to different INSTRUMENTS. An Instrument - in the Instrument List window - is a MIDI channel/patch setting. In this example let's say that you want staff 1 to play back with the General MIDI sound "Flute" (Program 74) on Channel 4: 1. Open the Instrument List window. Click the radio button "View by Staves". 2. In the column Instrument press on the black triangle to open the pop up menu. In the pop up menu, select "New Instrument...". 3. In the Instrument Definition dialog box, give your new Instrument a name (e. g. Flute), and assign it to Channel 4. In the General MIDI pop up menu, select program 74 Flute. Click OK. Peter
