How do I use Piano PEDALS to determine note duration with MidiKeyboard and SpeedyEntry?

In an attempt to make it easier to specify the duration of a two_handed chord in the SpeedyEntry window I have tried to create a KEYMAP under the SpeedyEntryTool that will use the pedals of the piano. ie. Soft=1/8 Sos=1/4 Sustain=1/2

I tried SpeedyMenu ... Options... Edit KeyMap... click (say 1/4) NoteDuration Listen button and hit the middle pedal but no midi number appears in the NoteDuration Box.
On page Appendix-45 of the pdf manual (Finale 2002) I find the "Controller" number for sustain pedal is 64, for sosti pedal is 66 and for soft pedal is 67, but if I type THESE numbers in the NoteDuration box, its just like having "listened" for those notes above middle C. Perhaps there is another box somewhere to alert the program I want to enter "Control" numbers rather than Keyboard Pitch numbers?

IS there a way to get the pedals to work for the most common note durations?

It would REALLY make it a lot easier to enter two hand chords.

The Help screen indicates this is possible, but its a parenthetical mention "(allows you to use....keys on MidiKeyboard.......or sustain pedal)" with no details about the pedals.

I'm using a Technics SX-PX226 piano keyboard with MidiIn MidiOut (no MidiThru) and standard LineIn LineOut outputs. Perhaps it doesn't have the correct thingy for the midipedal output whatchimcallit, but Im now starting to get into stuff I REALLY don't know. (I tried typing "No No, the OTHER 64" in the dialogue box box but that didn't work either)

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
Bob
