Message:
I am encountering some strange behavior upon trying to play back some simple lead sheets I've created in Finale ver 3.7.

In several of my files, when I hit "Play" on the Playback Controls console, the status bar in the upper left hand corner shows, "Processing measure #" and goes into a kind of infinite loop, with the measure numbers whizzing by at an extremely fast pace. The loop never stops, and I cannot play the file back. At this point I must hit "Stop" and everything sort of freezes for a moment (with the Finale rotating eighth note icon spinning for 20 seconds or so before the machine frees up). If I hit "Play" again, the whole crazy scenario starts again. The odd thing is that these files were once playable, right after I created them (??)

Any thoughts on what's going on , and how I can remedy this problem? It only happens on some of my lead sheets. On all the others when I hit "Play" the status bar only briefly shows "Processing measure #", and then the files begin to play, as they should.

Thanx for any assistance.
~ peace, Kevin Johnson
