Felipe,Last August, Barbara Toubourg and discussed the back-dating of files as a solution when moving files from a newer version of Finale to an older version. I'm not sure if it is still posted on here. In case it isn't, here is a quick refresher on how to "fool" Finale into thinking the file was made on an older version of Finale.
1) Save the file from the newer version of Finale in ETF format. This creates a gigantic text file which can be edited by the user.
2) Load the ETF file in a word processor or text editor program. Make sure you tell the computer to handle the file as TEXT ONLY and nothing else.
3) Delete the first 15 lines.
3A) Barbara recommended replacing the first 15 lines of code with those from an ETF file created in the older version of Finale. Either way, it should work.
4) Save the file as TEXT only!!! This makes sure that the computer doesn't embed any non-text commands in the file that will make it unreadable to Finale.
What you've just done: You've just removed the file's header info which tells the computer the date/program version of the file. now the computer doesn't know which version of Finale created it or when it was made.
4) Load the file in Finale.
That should do it. Any other questions can be posted on here.
Good Luck!
