Message:Tristen,barlines in Finale are defined as graphical items which end
a measure. To let "begin" a bar with a double barline, you have
to manipulate the preceeding barline settings. If you want to
achieve the following order: clef-signature-barline (which might
be what you mention), you have to do your staff spacing first and
then create a barline as a symbol which is attached to the bar.
If you did optimization, that's a lot of work and might be easier
in a graphics program. Good luck,
