QuickKeys & Finale Question

Message:My question is not so much a finale question, but a QuickKeys question.
I'm using Finale 98, QuickKeys 3.5.2r1 under MacOS 8.5.
I used Now Menus before to type shortcuts directly into the menu.
But since NowMenus is not recommended under System 8, I have to use only QuickKeys to program shortcuts.
Here is the question: I want to have (among others) a shortcut for teh note spacing command in the mass edit menu. But since this is a submenu from the mass edit menu, QuickKeys doesn't recognize the submenu choice and when I'm done recording in QuickKeys I get a message like "menu item ... not found".
Can anyone out there give me a suggestion on how to program a shortcut for a submenu-item? Thanks a lot, please e-mail me back in addition to posting here, since I can't check this Forum that much.
