Message:Has anyone had any direct experience with the MidiScan software in conjunction with the Finale2000 that has the built-in direct import capabilities. My understanding was that using this software will allow you to scan a piece of sheet music in and a Finale .MUS file is created that mirrors the manuscript at approximately 95% accuracy. It can then, after a few tweaks, be played back and all the dynamics and tempo markings would automatically happen. My question is, who has had some real experience using this software? I am on the verge of spending a chunk of change to by the software and scanner and I would like to know ahead of time what I am getting for my money. Is it really as easy as I stated above? Is it really as accurate as they say? Are there any got-ya's that I need to know about? Is there a preferred scanner for scanning sheet music? I know that a lot of music is oversized (> 8.5x11) that would not fit on a standard platen. Is there a scanner that has a larger scan area that I should consider? If not, how do you work-around? What other words of wisdom does anyone have. Thanks in advance for your comments Regards, David Witherspoon e-mail: d-witherspoon@ti.com
