Re: Making New Instruments/Drums in INstrument list?
Message:Matt, I write for drum & bugle corps and marching bands and I use Generel MIDI Entry in the percussion map designer box for all my settings. Gen. MIDI has more preset sounds and instrumentation than the other choices in the designer box. All these settings can be customized as you prefer. I have set more than one instrumentation for the same staff line, ex:snare, cymbal, and rim shot on C. Each setting then is placed in the score or printout as I want them to look and sound. When the score is played back the computer follows the measure being played as well as playing what is written, making editing easy. This file can be sent as a .mus file to anyone who has Finale or made into a MIDI file for recording. To playback snare rolls I've had to enter one 32nd note for each stroke in the roll so the computer will play them back properly. If you have a way to eliminate this problem, please contact me at the e-mail address above. Sincerely, Don
