I've been working on a full orchestra score. I had finished with all the markings and was going through from the beginning and formatting the pages to appear on 11/17 size pages. I was using the page layout menu to optimize the staffs, the "format page for score" in options/document settings to set the size to fit on the pages, and the up and down arrows in mass mover (mostly the up arrow from the previous pages to move measures back on to a page as your document recomends)to get the right number of measures per page. I had just started to use the "fit music" command in mass mover.
Everything was going great and somewhere between 140 and 170 measures into the piece (26 pages or so) the document lost all its markings from that point on. They are retained before that point, and gone after it. The notes and rests are still there as well as the slurs and staff expressions but almost completely gone are the:
double bars
time signature changes, which causes notes to jumble up,
key signature changes, which causes arbitrary transpositions of notes,
score expressions.
They are totally missing for about 100 measures and then they start to come back, but not all at once: they seem to be mostly back in order for the last 20 bars or so of the piece (306 measures total).
I do have backups of the piece with all its correct markings and time signatures etc. which I made before beginning to format the pages. I have tried copying the correct sections (large blocks) from those and inserting into the ailing file, but the score expressions lose all of there staff-list specificity and the notes are wrong.
I've been doing the work on a G3 Wallstreet powerbook with plenty of memory.
Any ideas?
Thanks. Happy New Year!
