Re: MIDI SCAN SOFTWARE: Sibelius? Smart Score? What works??
Message:Elizabeth - Midiscan has been replaced by SmartScore (same company), which also has a notation capability, and claims to have higher scanning accuracy than Midiscan. Either way, you can scan in printed music, save the file(s), make any corrections, edit, then import them into Finale 2000. Sounds involved, but I think it's the only way if you need to scan something. Regarding Sibelius, I'm seeing numerous claims that it's easier to use than Finale. There is a demo version available at www.sibelius.com; try it and see how you like it! (Not sure that scanning works in the demo version, though.)
