Re: Re: Finale vs Sibelius Which is better?????
Message:From reading other users comments on other sites, it appears that Sibelius is simpler and faster at first. If you never do anything very fancy, or need a real professional look, it may work for you. But those I have read about who do professional engraving, or anything complex, such as orchestra scores, say that Sibelius simply doesn't have the power they need. With the added complexity comes much greater power, to do just about anything you can think of.Once Finale's tech support site is back up, you may want to check it. There have been a number of discussions about this topic there, and you may gain additional insight. As for sounding the notes when entering, well, this is just not available in Finale. But for notation, and engraving, it is not all that necessary. I have used Finale for 9 years now, and never really missed this feature. But I have used the power of Finale to create publication quality scores, and really appreciate it's power, even if it is a little hard to learn.
